Getting Down

The pilot of this 44th Bomb Group ship made a very successful wheels up landing.
Prior to landing the pilot ordered 7 of the crew to parachute out. The pilot, co-pilot, and the navigator who was badly injured remained on board. All crew members survived.

Returning aircraft that were damaged beyond repair were salvaged for badly needed parts.
